PROGRAMS

PMAA offers an array of group programs designed to save money for both our active authority and associate members.

PLGIT

The PLGIT program consists of a Money Market Trust Fund administered by and for Local Government Units, including PMAA. With daily liquidity, no minimums, a proven competitive rate of return, and no service charges or fees, this portfolio should be at the heart of every municipal authorities' cash management program. Available to authority members.

PMAA UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION PROGRAM

PPMAA members authorities pay the U.C. Trust Fund at most 1.3% of the initial $8,000 paid to authority employees. The state U.C. is 3% on the initial $8,000 of payroll, thus an authority participating in the PMAA U.C. Trust program saves a minimum of $136 per employee. The Trust Fund is managed by PMAA Trustees, and has experienced steady growth since its inception. Available to authority members.

HIGHMARK LIFE & CASUALTY GROUP INSURANCE PLANS

PMAA offers group life, weekly disability income, in-hospital indemnity and dismemberment insurance programs underwritten by Highmark. If you have at least three employees (including board members and solicitors) who customarily work at least 30 hours weekly and have completed three months of service, you are eligible to participate in the plan.

INFORMATION SERVICE

PMAA staff answers a wide variety of questions involving authority inquiries from the membership. The state office has available extensive sources of information, such as samples of resolutions, bylaws, job descriptions and rules and regulations. PMAA maintains close contact with state agencies and officials, other local government associations and private consultants. These sources help PMAA to serve as a clearinghouse for any questions our members may have. The association also conducts special studies in specific areas requested by member authorities.
